Fond Farewell TAC Blog Hop

The Angel Company has officially closed it doors and hung up its wings.  For me that has been very sad.  My life has been so blessed by TAC and Mischelle Smith.  I will miss the many angel friends who stamped together at our seminars and angel gatherings.  I know some have already gone on to other stamping adventures with other companies.  I wish them all the best and success!  For me, I will not join another company but just stamp independently, teach classes, and perhaps do some designing online for companies.

This Paper Wings Fond Farewell TAC Blog Hop is special.  We all want to honor Mischelle Smith and our memories with The Angel Company during the past years.  For me it has been nine of the best years of my life.  I've spread my wings with my creativity, made some wonderful friendships ~ some that I know will endure ~ and been blessed in so many ways.  The Angel Company was really an inspiration to all who came in contact with it.  "We've been blessed so that we may be a blessing", Mischelle said.  I realized more than ever how card making and sending cards truly can be a ministry to others to encourage, pray, bless, strengthen, and help them through life's journey.

For this blog hop I made a prayer wallet from a file folder.  I will be praying for Mischelle and her family and for all the angels who feel the loss with me at this time.  So a prayer wallet is appropriate.

The outside of the wallet has a stamp from the set Sit Quietly, along with one of the sayings.  How just-right is that for what we all need to do right now?  I used one of my favorite paper pads, Rustic Chic.  The Spellbinders nesties are Labels 4 and 10 and the cardstock is from the Hemmingway cardstock.  The image is colored with Copics YG13,17, E74, 77, 79, and C1,3.  The wallet is closed with a green bow attached on the reverse.

The first two pockets in the wallet are for Prayer Requests and Prayer Answers.  I used sayings from Anchor to the Soul and Grace and Peace.  Silk flowers and Bitty Blossoms with a sticker jewels are the embellishments.

The second page of pockets are for Thanks and for Salvation prayers.  The sayings are from Sit Quietly and Grace and Peace.  All the insert lists are computer generated.

Continue on with the blog hop so you won't miss anyone's creation and final farewell.

Thanks for visiting my blog.  Blessings!

Tune in Tuesday with Paula-Kay Bourland

Copics on Fabric

Our Blog Hop with Stamping on Fabric earlier this month perked my interest in experimenting with Copic markers and fabric.  You would think it would be a no-no because of how they bleed on paper, but I found them to work okay on unbleached muslin.  I will show you several things I did with them.

First I made a fabric background for a card using R81, R83, R85, and R89.  I made hatch marks diagonally in both directions with all four colors.  When I finished I thought it would be a good background.

Using the T3464 Life of the Party stamp,  I colored my image with the same Copic markers as the background.  The edges are sponged wtih Palette Claret ink.  Pink cardstock and Bazzill ribbon finished off the card.

My next card tries fabric-piecing with muslin for the skirt on the image.

I stamped the image TB3488 Who I Am on unbleached muslin with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored the skirt with Copics G12, G14, G19 and cut it out to glue to the card.

The whole image is stamped on Premium White Cardstock and colored with YR12, YR15, YR16, G12, G14, G19, E01, E02.  When the skirt is added, the glue keeps it from ravelling.   For the crown I added touches from a Spica Peach pen to make it sparkle.  Then I sponged Memento Desert Sand to the edges of the image.

The base card is embossed with a Sizzix flower embossing folder, and the image in layered on orange cardstock and green cardstock.

My last card is simply stamping on unbleached muslin and coloring with Copics.  The stamp is TA Lovely Butterfly and the markers I used are BV00, BV02, BV04, Y15, Y17, Y19 and E01.  I fringed the edges of the muslin.

The background cardstock is Bazzill textured Impatients and yellow cardstock.

So what do you think?  Whereas Prismacolor pencils work great on fabric, Copics give a little more pigment depth.  But I suppose each fabric would have to be tested, just as different papers have to be tested with Copics.

Thanks for exploring Copics and fabric with me.
 Blessings!  Paula-Kay

Tune in Tuesday - Every Leaf

Welcome to our Team Project with our August promotion stamp set called Every Leaf.  You will want to go to the Savvy Projects Blog and see each of the Dream Team members' cards.

I had so much fun with our blog hop Stamping on Fabric earlier this month that I decided to do another fabric stamped card.  Using unbleached muslin, I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics E11, E13, E15, E19, Y35, Y38, YR04.

You might think that Copics wont's work on fabric, but they really do okay.  The colors blend, but not as smoothly as on cardstock.  The butterfly is stamped on cardstock and popped on the leaf.

My base card is a folded 8x8 scalloped cardstock from a Die Cuts With a View pad.  I used a bronze colored ribbon and shiny bronze brads as accents.

My second card using Every Leaf is done with an alcohol inks background.

The colors of the leaf and butterfly were chosen to match the background colors.  I used Copic markers G82, G94, G99, YR23, YR24, YR65, E08, YR68.  Also the butterfly was touched up with several green Spica pens.

I used the Winchester cardstock in the burnt copper color for my base card.

Thanks for visiting my blog and looking at my card.  Blessings!

DDH 12 Dry Embossing Challenge - Week 1

This week our DDH Challenge is Dry Embossing led by Stephanie Serrano.  My card uses the Sizzix embossing folder Woodgrain.  I rubbed a Versamark pad over the embossing to make it show up.  The pumpkins are from the DDH set, Fall Sampler.
I colored them with Copics YR12, YR15, YR16, YR18, YG93, YG95, YG97, E71, E74.
The saying is from TAC's Contemporary Greetings.

The background card is Kraft cardstock and I added a twill ribbon

We'd love for you to play along with our Challenge.  You have two weeks to link your dry embossed card to the DDH blog.  If you use a DDH image, you will get an extra chance to win a free DDH stamp set.  We would love to see what you create.

Be sure to look at the DDH Dream Team blogs to see the designers' cards.  The list of designers is on the right side bar.

My Heart to Your Heart

Sometimes we make a card for a very special person just to send a hug or say we are thinking about them.  That is true with this little Angel Square card.  It carries love and blessings to someone I want to bless.

For this special card I used a Spellbinders Nestie called Fleur De Lis Squares.  It is so feminine and pretty that it just fits the special person I want to bless.  I used a piece of the Maggie SWIC from TAC for the background and then accented the card with jewel stickers and several layered pink ribbons.

The image is colored with Copic markers.  The saying "From my heart to yours", from TAC's Savvy Sayings expresses the love I'm sending in this post.  The little angel carries a heart.  It's my heart to my friend.

Thanks for looking at my blog and this special card.

DDH 11 Recipe Challenge - Week 2

Here we are at Week 2 of Teresa's Recipe Challenge of 3 buttons, 2 patterned papers and a ribbon.

My card has two pieces of Emma SWIC Collection from TAC.  The green circle background is part of the paper collection, as is the stripped paper.  My DDH image is from the set called Spring Sprigs.  But I chose to make it a pink/salmon color to match the paper.  The ribbon is also from the Emma collection.  The saying, "I picked this just for you!" is from the DDH set, Lion.

I colored my flower with Copics R22, R32, R85, RV41, G94, G99, YR24, E99.  I used the Spellbinders Eyelet Circles and Circles for the die cuts.

You still have this week to add your Recipe Card to the DDH Blog and join the fun.  You might be chosen in our random drawing to win a free DDH set.  If you use a DDH image, you will also be entered into a second drawing.  Looking forward to seeing your creation.

August Blog Hop - Primary Colors/School

For the Digi Design House August blog hop we are featuring primary colors and a school theme.  It is perfect for the DDH stamp set, School Time.  I decided to make a waterfall card, which would be fun for a school child.

I used solid primary colored cardstock for the card and used computer-generated words for the saying.  Buttons were the only added accent.

You can see each section of the waterfall card as you pull the center section down.

Here's a close-up of the front flap.

Like all our DDH Hops, there are FREE sets up for grabs today too! Simply leave a comment on the Dream Team blogs to be entered for your chance to win a SURPRISE not-yet-released DDH set!

Thanks for looking at my card.  Now I know you will want to continue on the blog hop and see all the DDH Designers' card.  Here is the blog order:

Blog Hop - Stamping on Fabric

Welcome to the TAC Blog Hop for August.  Our projects this month are all Stamping on Fabric.  I made a card using T3492 New Creation.  It is stamped on unbleached muslin with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics YR15, YR18, E19, Y04, Y06, Y12.

I wasn't sure how Copics would work on fabric, but they did pretty good!  They blended but not as smoothly as on paper.  I tried not to go too near the edge so they would not bleed over the lines.

The background card is from the Miss Moxie cardstock and the paper and brads are also from Miss Moxie collection.  I also added a couple of lines with the Scor-Bug at the bottom of the card.

Now it is your turn.  Link your Stamping on Fabric creation to the Savvy Projects Blog and join the fun.

Thursday Inspiration

For Thursday Inspiration we chose the song "Celebration" by Kook and the Gang for
the inspiration for our cards. The new DDH set that was just added called Groovy Girls is the perfect set for this song. These girls seem to be dancing and celebrating, and I can just see them keeping the beat with with music, can't you?

My images are colored with Copic markers.  I made the girls are all different races, and I had fun coloring their skin appropriately.  I framed the images with a Spellbinders Scalloped Edge Frame and flowers.  The colorful background cardstock is Tutti Fruit Classic collection from The Angel Company.

Can  you join us today by creating a card inspired by the song "Celebration"?  Or take a few minutes and view the cards made by the DDH design team and comment on theirs for a change to win a prize in our drawing today.  You will find the design team listed on the side bar of my blog.
May your day be an inspiration to you!

Wednesday Wishes

It is Wednesday, and the DDH Design Team has chosen Birthday Wishes for today. And since this is one of our Dream Team Designers' birthday, I am dedicating this post to Hannah Clark.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY TODAY, HANNAH!  I hope your day is a blessing!

My card uses two DDH stamp sets - Live, Love and Laugh; and It's Your Day.

The lady's dress is paper pieced with Miss Moxie SWIC paper collection from The Angel Company.  I used the Spellbinders Eyelet Circles die for the cake and sentiment.  Copic colors used to color the cake are V04, V06, Y35, Y38, R24, R29.

It's your turn now.  Link a Birthday card to the DDH blog (maybe you can use a DDH stamp set!) for a chance to win a prize in our daily drawing, or just take a few minutes to comment on all the DDH Designers' cards.  You will find the Design team listed on the side bar of my blog.

Technique Tuesday

Today we feature different digital techniques for our Technique Tuesday. I made
two cards with the DDH Hunting stamp set, both using a brayer technique

The images are printed on glossy cardstock and brayered over them with a Blue Breeze Kalidacolor pad.  To finish the cards I added a matching aqua colored Bazzill cardstock for the base and matted the image on black cardstock.  Then I added buttons and black floss for texture and embellishments.

My second card, made the same way is a different image
from the same Hunting stamp set

.
Be sure to check out the other Design Team blogs to see the
different techniques they have used for Technique Tuesday.

You can link a card using a digi technique to the DDH blog for a chance to win a prize, or just comment on the DDH Designers' blogs for another drawing for prizes.  See the list of the team on the side bar.
